Work motivates me....to update my blog

So I just passed the six month mark here, meaning I only have about 2 1/2 months left. Isn't that crazy. Does it seem like it's been that long to anyone? And the old phrase "time flies when you're having fun" doesn't really apply here so I'm not sure why it has seemed to go so fast. I mean don't get me wrong, I have LOVED my time here, but it was never anything like super-exciting. I'm just living the same life but in a different location. I go to work everyday, watch TV after work, cook dinner and go to sleep- I mean thats not "fun" but for some reason its seemed to pass the time. Sure I had fun "excursions" to the beach or Nicaragua, but it's not like that happened EVERY weekend or anything like that, I mean most weekends of mine were spent fighting for the washing machine since it was the ONLY time available to do laundry. I don't know, it just seems weird to me that the time went so fast.
So the TLs and Managers were discussing new TLs and they all seemed to think I'd fit the postition. My TL sent me a note that said "Rico liked the idea of you as a TL!" (Rico being the floor manager) But don't you think thats coming a bit late? They all know I'm leaving in December to go home. I mean they had months to give me this job- remember what happened last time they hired? They picked a girl while she was in training to do it, and had no experience- and I was there for 3 or 4 months. Doesn't make sense to me. It's like Dad. They always hire new college graduates to do jobs over him and then he has to train his bosses. It's just not fair.
One thing I know I won't miss is public transportation. Amber and I have had a lot of converations about this recently. It's not that I miss driving, cause I don't really miss that at all it's the fact that I depend on the buses to get me places and if they are late, or there's an accident, or it's too crowded and the bus driver won't let me on, or there's a ton of traffic... I can't get places on time (such as work, because it's the only place I have to arrive on time). I base my schedules around the bus schedules. For instance, no buses leave from the mall or downtown to come to my side of town after 10 or 10:30 so if I'm anywhere like the movies and try to get home I have to take a taxi and pay 3 or 4 dollars as opposed to 45 cents or so that I pay for the bus. Plus if I don't know exactly where I'm going I just have to get off and walk around and hopefully find my way. Which is why I pretty much don't go anywhere =) I just stay on my side of town or go downtown to places I'm familiar with. Anyway what I'm saying is I'm tired of taking buses and paying for taxis, I'm tired of standing room only after work when its hot and there are way too many people standing in an asile way and everyone pushing and leaning against you. I'm tire of not having personal space anymore. (Heres the bus in the morning, the way I like it: nice and empty):
And since I'm at work let me add some more "complaints" I'm sick of telling people I'd be happy to take their order or look into what happened with the delivery. I'm not happy to do it. I don't want to do. But if I don't pretend like I want to I get docked points on my QA scores and then that means I get paid less. Or if a really annoying customer calls in screaming and telling me everythings my fault and really THEY entered the information wrong when THEY placed the order online- yet if I don't apologize I get paid less....
Anyway, Ive spent the last hour or so searching for the Olive Garden in Costa Rica, I was told it existed but after finally finding a phone number and having my boss call that it seems to have been a lie. So now I'm taking a survey of peoples favorite restuarants here to hopefully find something good.
Last Friday I went to my bosses house after prayer and she made me Sloppy Joe's, an American delicacy as far as I'm concerned. It was wonderful.
(Here's Monica doing dishes or something related to sloppy joes):I'm going to check the mail again this week for the package of home bake cookies my mom sent me in August (I'm pretty sure thats when) I'm sure they'll be delicious when they arrive! Although I've lost all faith in the Costa Rican postal service so we'll see if it ever gets here.
Ok well thats all for now...maybe I'll be motivated again soon and write something new
